Humility - Be My Attitude
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the
Kingdom of
Heaven.” Mt 5:3
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves,
therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1Peter 5:5-7
Lord, please have Your way with me,
It’s time that I give up,
This notion… I should be in charge
Of filling my own “cup”.
I’ve put up quite a struggle,
Submission through duress…
The journey isn’t easy, Lord…
This road to humbleness.
It’s ours to choose – submit or spunk?
But either way, we will be shrunk.
For God will surely raise the meek,
His strength bestowed upon the weak.
You see in order to be humbled,
One must be completely crumbled,
Further crushing is existing…
If in pride we’re still resisting.
God is looking for the ones,
Who hear His voice and tremble.
They will be the ones transformed,
And then one day resemble…
The humble Son of God, the Christ-
Through Him, the captives freed.
Then God would so delight in us…
We’ve recognized our need.
Victory comes when we surrender,
Offered hearts for God to render.
Humbled then, we cast our cares;
The wheat perfected by the tares.
In the harvest, to be shaken,
We disappear… then overtaken-
By the Righteous, Holy One...
God’s Kingdom come… His will be done.
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, … made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant… humbled Himself and became obedient to death – even death on the cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Php 2:5-11
