A Grain of Sand
The time we walk upon this earth is but a grain of sand,
When held up to eternity; provision of Your hand.
A bitter root would claim the space, where You could now reside,
Search my heart and purge those things that I would try to hide.
Cleanse me of unrighteousness, that I’d be set apart,
In casting all my cares on You, I recommit my heart.
The memory of this day to prompt a memory of love,
Forgiveness given for us; gifted from above.
Grant me the serenity, while every step I trod;
To pause, and with Your help, be still… and know that You are God.
Amen.
Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (NIV) |
