Scriptures for Cloud by Day, Fire by Night
Pillar: n. 1 a strong upright support 2 a column standing alone as a monument
3 an integral or upstanding member or part
By day He went ahead of them, to lead them on their way.
The promise of His presence, “I’ll be with you, child, I’ll stay”.
Ex 13:21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way,
and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or fight.
Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.
Ex 3:12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you:
When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
In darkness He would be the light, revealing His protection,
A pillar of provision, of guidance and direction.
Ne 9:19-20 “Because of Your great compassion You did not abandon them in the desert.
By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night
to shine on the way they were to take. You gave Your good Spirit to instruct them.”
Ps 5:11 But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy.
Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.
Ps 91:14 “Because he loves Me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him, I will protect him,
for he acknowledges My name.”
The glory of the One True God, displayed for all to see.
Asking of His children, “Hear My voice, and follow Me.”
Josh 4:24 He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord
is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.
Ex 14:31 And when the Israelites saw the great power of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians,
the people feared the Lord and put their trust in Him…
Dt 4:33 Has any other people heard the voice of God speaking out of fire, as you have, and lived?
Jn 10:3-4 Jesus said, “The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.
He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own,
he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”
A cloud by day, a fire by night… the signs and wonders shown,
Deliverance from bondage… that His presence would be known.
Ex 33:14 The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Ex 15:11 “Who among the gods is like you, O Lord?
Who is like you-majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?”
Ex 6:7 “I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know
that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.”
Jer 24:7 “I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord.
They will be My people and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.”
His presence in the flames, would now accomplish His desire,
His power to consume and to refine, are in this fire.
He 12:28-29 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful,
and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”
Lev 9:24 Fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed the burnt offering…
And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.
Mal 3:2 But who can endure the day of His coming? Who can stand when He appears?
For He will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.
Exalting those with humble hearts, that give to Him the glory.
Three that willingly stepped in the fire, walked out to tell “the story”.
2Sa 22:28 You save the humble, but Your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.
Da 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar,
we do not need to defend ourselves in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace,
the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king.
But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king,
that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Da 3:23 - and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.
:24 then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers,
“Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”
:25 “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed,
and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” :26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached
the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego,
servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!
:28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego,
who has sent His angel and rescued His servants! They trusted in Him and defied the king’s command
and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.”
Lord of all, yet He delights in every son and daughter.
Draw near to Him, believe… and so receive the Living Water.
Ps 147:11 The Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.
He 10:22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith having our hearts
sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Ja 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Jn 7:38 “Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;
He will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
In Him, I’m hidden and concealed… gently broken parts are healed.
His righteousness and truth revealed, as we allow the layers peeled.
Ps 143:9 Rescue me from my enemies, O Lord, for I hide myself in You.
Is 49:2 … in the shadow of His hand He hid me; He made me into a polished arrow
and concealed me in His quiver.
Ex 15:26 Lord: “If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His eyes…
I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
Ps 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Mal 4:2 but for you who revere My name, the Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.
Ps 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Pr 20:27 The lamp of the Lord searches the spirit of a man; it searches out his inmost being.
My shield against the enemy, before me and behind,
That I would only seek Him with my whole heart, soul and mind.
Ps 91:4 He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Ex 14:19 Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt
and went near the other all night long. :24 During the last watch of the night the Lord looked down
from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion.
Jer 29:13 “You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Mk 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
A cloud by day, a fire by night… the Pillar that will stand and fight.
The Father’s hand, His strength and might; that I would know I’m His delight.
Ex 14:13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm
and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.
:14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Zep 3:17 “The Lord you God is with you, He will quiet you with His love,
and He will rejoice over you with singing.”
Ps 18:19 He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.
Let it be only You, I follow… Spirit filled, and never hollow.
Ps 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
Joel 2:27 Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord you God, and that there is no other;
Jn 20:22 And with that He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
In every sign and wonder shown… acknowledge You, are God alone.
Dt 4:34-35 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by miraculous sings and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds,
like all the things the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?
You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides Him there is no other.
Pr 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
That I’d not turn away, but toward… and speak the words, “I need You, Lord.”
1Ki 8:58 May He turn our hearts to Him, to walk in all His ways and to keep the commands,
Is 45:22 “Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.”
Jer 33:3 “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Zech 13:9 This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold.
They will call on My name and I will answer them; I will say,
“They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘the Lord is our God.’”
Be still, and know You’re God, above… the One of Everlasting Love.
Ps 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
1Ch 16:46 “for His love endures forever.”
Is 40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding not one can fathom.
Jer 31:3 The Lord appeared in the past saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
A cloud by day, a fire by night ~ a pillar ~ the Way, the Truth, the Light.
Is 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
1Ti 3:15 you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household,
which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
Ja 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.
Jn 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Jn 16:13 “But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.”
1Jn 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light;
in Him there is no darkness at all.
Jn 8:12 Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life.”
