The Poison of Predjudice

While refereeing soccer, a man came up to me,
proclaiming me a racist. I though, how could it be?
Now, we get called a lot of things, but most folks would agree...
It's difficult to find one blinder, than a referee.
"You're a racist!" he declared, and there was anger on his face.
Prejudged, I simply asked him, "Would that be the human race?"
Prejudice takes many forms, one as poison as the other.
To let a shade of skin, determine how we treat our brother?

Created in His Image

In Genesis it's written, that God created man...
From a simple pile of dirt, and by the power of His hand.
Created in His image, that we may know our worth.
It's really not surprising, we're the color of the earth.
How could hearts be hardened, that skin be cause for rage?
I've yet to see one black or white, we're shades of brown and beige.
The colors of our planet, could not be more diverse...
Creative and artistic...  He, who made the universe.
Our differences weren't made to be a matter of contention.
Created in HIS image, and the color wasn't mentioned.
How narrow is the vision,  that hatred would appear?
Because they're just too different - there's something to be feared.
We judge by OUR authority, the standard WE would set.
Created in OUR image? It's a sin He'll not forget.
Forgive us Lord, our judgment, that OURS should be the way.
How many different churches, and different ways to pray?
To glorify ourselves, we would inflict rejection's pain.
                                            Feeling quite super, in arrogance we reign.                                                    Ignorance abounding, fearing the unknown...
Lord, I pray, change hearts today...Your mercy to be shown.
That we would be redeemed, because a Savior's blood was shed.
The precious blood of Jesus... like everyone's, was red.
Created in His image... that we would know our worth.
And, isn't it amazing!... we're the color of the earth.

John 15:12  "My command is this:  Love each other as I have loved you."

                        2John :6  And this is love:  that we walk in obedience to His commands.                          As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love.

                      1John 3:23  And this is His command:  to believe in the name of His Son,                     Jesus Christ, and to love one another as He commanded us.
